Richard Wiles is a retired American history and reading development instructor at Petoskey High School, and a former Spring Arbor University graduate class instructor of research. His historical WHITE PAPERS are written for the PETOSKEY DISTRICT LIBRARY’s “Michigan Room of Local History” files. He has tried to be a “Tip of the Mitt” history detective uncovering the many myths involved in the area’s local history.
